Pantheon Black (2010)
Sci-Fi/Horror Not Rated
Plot
A crew of deep space researchers investigates a peculiar asteroid that is covered by what appear to be hieroglyphics. In their curiosity, they cut it open and unleash a being of pure darkness; an ancient god that is hell bent on destroying all things spawned from the light. Now, the crew must fight not only for their lives, but also their souls. Starring Robert Pralgo (The Blind Side, The Gates) with special appearances by Daphne Reid (Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) and Mark Joy (Dog Days of Summer, Border Town, Dogma). Pantheon Black is a twisted sci-fi thriller that will leave you shivering with awe and terror.
Acting
Has a shockingly stong cast with some actors who are not big on fame, but are big on talent. Very impressive and a vast improvement over Fabian Rushes first film.
Gore
Focuses primarily on the sci-fi element so the bloodshed is reduced mostly to gunshots.
Sex/Nudity
Theres a naked hologram.
Final Thoughts
A major major improvement over Fabian Rushes previous film "So Mort It Be", that tells a good, though not original story. Rush has much better special effects this time, that while still not exactly good are passable, and he shows he has competence as a director. Add in the strong cast and u have an enjoyable viewing experience.
