The Money Trail (2009)
Action/Adventure Not Rated
Plot
In this action/adventure film, Armando Scarpelli, wealthy drug lord, will pay a bounty to anyone who can spring his son, Lenny, from prison. As Lenny works on a prison chain gang, a jailbreak is attempted...and botched. Lenny escapes into the woods with one of the prison guards. They are pursued by cops, and by thugs who are trying to collect the $2-million bounty.
Acting
Shane Andries was decent in his lead role and Bill Bresch and Paul Campion where good in there supporting roles, but the rest of the cast was far less than stellar, and really showed that the where amateurs.
Gore/Action
Theres plenty of gunshots, and some woods chase scenes, not much though.
Sex/Nudity
None
Final Thoughts
Ever heard someone says a movie was "just there"? Well if so, this is what they where talking about. The story, characters, and acting are very generic, not impressive or maddening (and at 50 minutes of run time, doesn't over stay itself), and the action scenes, where few and far between, and I think that is what hurt this movie the most. Loading a movie with lots of explosions, fight scenes or anything that supply a break in the dialogue is a great way to make up for the lack of great storytelling, and while they probably couldn't afford many explosions on their budget, some well thought out fight scenes, and mindless violence, certainly would have helped this movie a great deal. It also has a poor, and abrupt ending that didn't help matters.
