About me and my site VaultofObscurity.com
My name is Tim Masson, I am the lone creator and reviewer here at VaultofObscurity.com. I started this site in November of 2009 in order to spread my love of horror, sci-fi, action and disaster movies, especially those consider b-level or cult movies. I do not claim to be a professional writer, or even a good one, I'm just here to have fun, so if there are spelling or grammatical errors on my site, and I'm sure there are plenty, I don't care. I also in no way run this site in order to make a profit or to make a living , in fact I actually spend $80 of my own money per year to maintain the site and work a full time job, only doing this site in my free time.. The only intentions for this are for my entertainment, and hopefully the entertainment of some others. And if it leads to more people discovering these sometime rare and hard to finds movies, thats a big bonus.
I am only 22 years old and just recently (2004 or 2005) discovered the horror and b-movie genre, but once i did, I was hooked, and vowed to make up for my late start by spending every minute of my free time watching movies. In between high school ending and me finally getting a job, I would watch a minimum of 20 movies a week, with a good 95% of them being from the genre. Now that i have a job I unfortunately can only get to about 10 a week, but trust me, i certainly try to make it more.
I'm willing to watch just about anything from any time era or country, any budget or lack of budget, and while I review my movie with Acting, Gore and Sex/Nudity criteria, not one of them is required for me to like a movie, in fact i believe all three are best used to enhance a good movie, and when a movie is based on trying to deliver one of these category's rather than making a well rounded movie, I often find them less enjoyable.
So, I hope you all enjoy my site, and hope to see you all again soon.
